Title: | Kinematics of a Sample of Very Red Stars at the South Galactic Pole |

Abstract: | From the proper motion distribution of 75 very red stars near the south galactic pole a mean group parallax of about 0.04'' is derived. The objects either form a cloud in that region or they are representative of the star density of red dwarfs in the solar neighbourhood. This density is considerably larger than was previously thought. The latter conclusion agrees with similar observations near the north galactic pole. |
