| Abstract: | A survey of the various tasks involved in the construction of the Fifth Fundamental catalogue (FK5) is given. One of these tasks is the determination of the FK5 system which will be performed with the aid of new analytical methods developed at Heidelberg. Th basic characteristics of these methods are described, and information on the most significant errors in the FK4 system is given. |
