| Abstract: | According to the tangential method the product AR0 is determined with 145.7 km s-1 from measurements of the line profiles of the 21-cm line of the neutral hydrogen by Weaver and Williams (1973). The recent individual measurements of Oort's constant A and of the distance R0 of the Sun from the galactic centre yields 138.5 km s-1.The mean value 142.1 km s-1 leads to A=14.56 km s-1 kpc-1 and R0=9.76 kpc. At the galactocentric distance R near R0 the angular velocity is represented by w(R)=25.84-2.98(R-9.76)+0.075(R-9.76)2. The mass of the Galaxy amounts to 1.92*1011 solar masses. |
