| Abstract: | Basic material and procedures are discussed for an improvement of the FK4 and its extension to the ninth visual magnitude resulting in a new fundamental catalogue, which I provisionally call the FK5. Arguments are given in favour of extending the proposed system FK5 to optically faint objects and radio sources and of relating the fundamental reference system to the extragalactic reference frame. |
